Is LaraCast free?
Yes. Download it and use it, no account and no watermark. A Pro plan is coming later.
Which phones work?
iPhone and iPad through AirPlay Screen Mirroring. Android 11 or newer over Wi-Fi (Wireless debugging); older Android phones over a USB cable.
Do the phone and the PC need the same network?
Yes, for wireless mirroring they need the same Wi-Fi or home network. If your iPhone doesn’t list your PC, click Fix network in the app once.
Does anything go to the cloud?
No. Mirroring, recording, editing and the AI noise suppression all run on your PC. The app only contacts GitHub to check for updates.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that normal?
For now, yes: the installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen doesn’t know it. Click More info → Run anyway. Each release lists its SHA-256 checksums.
Mac or Linux?
LaraCast is for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) for now.
What is it built on?
LaraCast builds on open source: UxPlay (GPL-3.0) for AirPlay, scrcpy for Android, FFmpeg and GStreamer for video, and DeepFilterNet, DPDFNet and GTCRN for noise suppression. Every release attaches our UxPlay changes.
